So, so much to be thankful for, y’all. NDB is here, whole and healthy, beautiful and boisterous, and changing my life with his every breath. NDD is finally working in his dream job, with another dream job already lined up for next year, and has been cancer-free for 5 years and 2 months. We weren’t hurt in the apartment fire back in July – and our insurance company provided enough cleaning and compensation to get us back on our feet in a good way. I have a new blog, and I’m keeping up with my NaBloPoMo posts, and I feel like it’s a great outlet. Life is good, and I am grateful for our blessings.
This is the time of year to focus on giving, too. We give our tithe to our local church, and we give above and beyond that to a few causes we love and to our alma mater. My MOMS Club chapter and our La Leche League are going to be collecting food and baby items for local charities, and the hospital where NDD works is collecting clothing and blankets for the NICU babies. It’s easy to get all wrapped up in finding the perfect gifts, cooking the perfect dishes, decorating with the perfect touches… but “from everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.*” Don’t forget to give back; it’s a beautiful way to express your heart of thanksgiving.
